We provide a diverse range of services to individuals, families and community education. Our services include withdrawal services; one-on-one assessment and treatment by psychologists and counsellors; group therapy; residential rehabilitation; and free education at Odyssey College.

Job Description

Odyssey House NSW’s trauma-informed services set us apart as a leader in the support service space for alcohol and other drugs dependency. Our teams help clients to meet their goals and address underlying trauma and mental health issues, while also developing new skills to improve all aspects of their lives. 

 Our organisation takes safeguarding children and young people seriously, and as an employee of Odyssey House NSW, you are required to meet the behaviour standards outlined in our Code of Conduct.

Desired Skills and Experience

We understand that each person who is interested in volunteering has unique skills and experiences. If you are interested in volunteering, please read the information on Odyssey’s website. Odyssey does not have prescribed roles for volunteers. Given this it is important to provide a cover letter outlining your thoughts on tasks or projects you are interested in and feel you can add value.

Odyssey has several teams; Community, Multi-Cultural, Community Drug Action, Corporate, Residential and College. Odyssey NSW has multiple sites across NSW. The Corporate office is in Redfern. The residential sites are located in Ingleburn and Eagle Vale. At the residential sites, in addition to therapeutic sessions, there is general daily living e.g. cooking, gardening, driving to appointments, etc. The Residential site also includes the College which has adult resident classes ranging from art, woodwork, English, math to occupational courses such as hospitality. 

Odyssey prefers that volunteers are interested in volunteering for 6 months minimum period unless working on short term projects. 

Odyssey is committed to providing a safe environment. All volunteers must have a criminal check, a working with children check and a full covid vaccination. 

Volunteer work is unpaid.
